Type of rivet created for joining materials hard to soft or soft to soft, such as metal to plastic or plastic to plastic. This is frequently used in the automotive industry and in the manufacture of toys. During application, the body of the rivet splits into three "ribbons", which distribute weight across a greater area of material, which precedes its deformation.
